The areas that cause the most trouble in food marketing are health claims, label inconsistencies, undocumented wording, the right of withdrawal, and unsolicited messages. Tick this list before every new product, label, and campaign.
Health and nutrition claims
- No sentence in ads, on labels, on pages, or in replies suggests that the product prevents, treats, or cures a disease.
- Wording like ‘healing,’ ‘boosts immunity,’ ‘lowers cholesterol,’ and ‘natural antibiotic’ isn't used on any channel.
- If a health claim is used, only a claim permitted by the Turkish Food Codex is used, together with its conditions.
