Think of the shoot day as a limited block taken out of the salon's calendar: if the prep is incomplete, the block is wasted and chair revenue is lost. This list covers six phases: a week before, set and light, on set, editing, approval and publishing, and the archive.

A week before the shoot

  • The scripts for the 6–8 videos were read aloud with the stylists and barbers, and technical lines were fixed in their own words.
  • The shoot day is the morning with the fewest bookings (for example Tuesday), and the coordinator isn't booking those chairs.
  • A shot list is written for each video: which chair, which tools and which line.
